There are an increasing number of practitioners claiming to offer osteopathy in BC with insufficient training as laid out in the World Health Organizations Benchmarks For Osteopathic Education.
My first recommendation is always to seek treatment with someone who is registered in BC with the Society for Manual Practice Osteopathy www.osteopathybc.ca as all members meet the WHO requirements of education.
Secondly if a practitioner is not registered with the SPMPO ask where they qualified from and check the the amount of education they have had. Some of these institutes are very good at making their qualifications look legitimate but a bit of investigation usually reveals a lack of depth of training.
