Whistler boot fitting part 2
March 26, 2012
I just purchased a new pair of boots for touring and wasn’t initially happy with the fitting. I took them to Andrew at Fanatyk Co in Whistler and was impressed with his knowledge and service provided. It was good sound sensible advice and the boots are now infinitely more comfortable after a fitting. He wasn’t in a hurry to blow out the shell but worked more on getting the lining more comfortable. Each time I ski in the boots they are becoming more comfortable.
One of the things that I have learned over the process is that English boot fitters tend to recommend boots that are too large and seem comfortable in the shop. In the long run it is better to get a boot that might seem a bit tighter initially but it will have a much greater longevity and increased comfort after a few outings.
